LV= has appointed Katherine Carnegie as its chief commercial officer who will join the investment and protection firm’s executive team with immediate effect.

The business says Carnegie “will lead the LV= investment, protection and retirement businesses and continue to build momentum around its diverse range of products, including growing LV’s Smoothed Managed Fund range”, designed to offer retail investors “stable, but flexible” investing options.

LV= also runs equity release, as well as landlord and home insurance units.

Carnegie, who joined the business 11 years ago and has worked in a variety of roles, was most recently the firm’s interim managing director – protection, savings and retirement.

Prior to that, she worked for just under three years at Friends Provident, leaving as a financial planning & performance analyst in 2012.

Before that she again spent just under three years at Barclays Bank, leaving as a senior financial analyst in 2009.

LV= chief executive David Hynam says: “Katherine will play a key role in continuing to grow our strong and thriving mutual life and pensions business.

“She will Build on the success of LV= Platform Services’ recently launched new lifestyle equity release products and a transition to BlackRock as our primary asset manager.”

Carnegie adds: “My priorities will be to work with the teams across investment, protection and retirement to drive the success of LV’s diverse product offering and contribute to building a strong and sustainable future as a mutual life and pensions business.”

Carnegie’s appointment is subject to regulatory approval.
