Barclays’ Sue Hayes to take on group MD role at Aldermore

Aldemore has appointed Sue Hayes to the newly created role of group managing director – retail finance.

Hayes (pictured) joins from Barclays where she was managing director of premier and community segments and savings products. She has worked in the finance industry for more than 25 years, including at Santander – where she held a number of senior roles across retail and commercial banking – Halifax and RBS.

Hayes will join Aldermore in June and will be a member of the bank’s executive committee. She will report to Aldermore chief executive Phillip Monk and will be responsible for managing the existing bank’s mortgages and savings businesses as well as expanding into new areas.

Monks says: “Sue is highly respected, brings considerable banking experience to her new role, and will be a real asset to the bank’s executive committee.”
